Focus Areas

Perinatal

I support women through the tender transitions of fertility, pregnancy, postpartum, and motherhood — helping you find steadiness, self-compassion, and strength along the way.

Unexpected Loss

A natural part of life includes loss. I support individuals seeking a safe space to unpack grief and trauma related to sudden losses of any kind.

Chronic Health Issues

Living with health challenges affects every part of who you are. In our work together, I offer a space to explore and nurture the mind-body connection in your healing process.

Trauma

Trauma can come from life-altering events or from subtle hurts that slowly shape how we see ourselves. In therapy, we work with both — honoring your full experience and your capacity to heal.

“The paradox of trauma is that it has both the power to destroy and the power to transform and resurrect.”

— Peter Levine

Therapies

As part of our work together, I may use specialized approaches such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and/or Brainspotting. These are therapy modalities designed to help process and heal from trauma, distressing experiences, and emotional blocks.

  • EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is an evidence-based therapy that uses bilateral stimulation (eye movements, tapping, or sound) while focusing on aspects of a distressing memory or experience. This process helps the brain reprocess memories to be less emotionally disruptive. Click here for more information about EMDR.

Potential Benefits of EMDR and Brainspotting include:

    (1) Relief from distressing memories and symptoms

    (2) Reduced anxiety, depression, or trauma responses

    (3) Improved self-understanding, perspective, and emotional resilience

  • Brainspotting is a therapy method derived from EMDR that uses eye position and mindfulness to access and release unprocessed trauma and emotional experiences stored in the brain and body. Click here for more information about brainspotting.

Potential Benefits of EMDR and Brainspotting include:

    (1) Relief from distressing memories and symptoms

    (2) Reduced anxiety, depression, or trauma responses

    (3) Improved self-understanding, perspective, and emotional resilience

  • Internal Family Systems (IFS) is a gentle approach that helps you understand the different “parts” within you — like the parts that feel hurt, the parts that protect you, or the parts that want to move forward. In therapy, we help those parts work together so you can feel more whole and at peace.

FAQs

If you have a question not answered here, reach out!

  • Reach out via my website or email me directly at hello@reneedaycounseling.com. I will reply within 1-2 business days. Share any goals you have for therapy and anything you would like me to know. Feel free to ask me any questions you have, too! I will share my next available appointment times and we will set a time for your intake appointment. You will then receive a confirmation email from me as well as a link to join my portal where you will fill out intake paperwork prior to our appointment. I am always here to help if you have any questions along the way!

  • I am out-of-network with insurance and my rates are $160 per 50 minute individual therapy session, due on the day of your session.

  • My therapy sessions are 50 minutes.

  • This is always catered to your specific treatment needs, goals, and symptoms. We will discuss what is right for you during our intake appointment. Often I meet with new clients more frequently as we get started to build a solid foundation for your healing journey. For many clients, this looks like weekly or biweekly meetings to start. As you gain traction toward your goals we will spread out sessions from biweekly to monthly, and can meet as needed from there. This is a collaborative process; I am always open to feedback to ensure our time together feels productive, meaningful, and worthwhile.

  • In order to maintain consistency and quality care for all of my clients, I do have a cancellation policy. Sessions canceled with less than 24-hour notice are billed at my full session rate. In rare cases of unexpected illness or emergency, I make every effort to reschedule within the week to waive this fee.

  • I do not bill insurance. I am considered an out-of-network provider, which means I can provide you with a superbill for you to submit directly to your insurance company for reimbursement, if eligible. To find out about your out-of-network coverage, I recommend calling “member services” on the back of your insurance card and asking about out-of-network reimbursement rates for 50 minute individual therapy sessions (billing code 90834) with your specific plan. Please note, some insurance companies cover telehealth therapy sessions different from in-person therapy so you can also specify any differences for your reference.
